Enter your push-ups, sit-ups, and 2-mile run time. Get instant points for every event, your total out of 300, and whether you passed — scored by age and gender against official Army standards.
The Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) was the U.S. Army's standard fitness assessment for decades. It measures muscular endurance and cardiovascular fitness through three events taken in a single session, each scored from 0 to 100 points by your age group and gender.
While the Army has since moved to the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT/AFT), the APFT remains widely used for ROTC, historical records, and self-assessment. This calculator scores the classic three-event test.
As many correct push-ups as possible in two minutes. Body straight, arms locked at the top, chest within four inches of the ground each rep.
Maximum sit-ups in two minutes. Shoulder blades touch the ground, then elbows reach past the knees. A partner anchors your feet.
A measured two-mile course, run as fast as you can. No walking penalty — only the finish time counts toward your score.
Each event converts your raw performance into 0–100 points using the Army's scoring tables for your age and gender. Younger soldiers must do more for the same points; older brackets get more generous standards. Your three event scores add up to a composite out of 300.
Minimum points required in each event — fail one, fail the test.
Minimum total to pass, combined across all three events.
Maximum possible — a perfect 100 in push-ups, sit-ups, and the run.
Raw performance needed for 60 points (minimum to pass) and 100 points (maximum). Sit-up standards are the same for men and women; push-up and run standards differ.
